6 Latinx-Owned Beauty Brands Using CBD

As the cannabis industry continues to expand, so do the options available to explore the benefits of this plant and its properties. CBD is one of the hot ingredients that many brands and industries– from food to wellness– are using to enhance their product offerings, and has proved both a lucrative and beneficial endeavor for both entrepreneurs and consumers alike.

Cannabinoids may sound intimidating, but each one has their purpose. CBD is one of those cannabinoids– found in the cannabis plant– that is used mainly for recreational and medicinal purposes. Unlike its cousin THC, CBD is non psychoactive, meaning that it won’t induce the same “high” sensation. Still, some of its main benefits include: pain relief, reduction of anxiety levels, alleviate cancer-related symptoms, and diabetes prevention.

In beauty, many are skeptical of the benefits of CBD, but research shows that its anti-inflammatory properties can help with redness, puffiness, and irritation. Still, it’s important to note that just because a label says CBD, it doesn’t mean you are getting it for real as many products actually use hemp seed oil instead.

As the market for CBD beauty products grows, Latinx-owned brands cash in big time, providing clean, sustainable, and cruelty-free alternatives to big name beauty brands. Here are some of them.
