At Abuela’s House

The Caribbean is a hot place that sometimes might feel like hell itself. But still, every abuela knows the right way to drink a cafecito at 3 pm is to serve it as blisteringly hot as possible– María cookies included. An afternoon at abuela’s is never complete without a shot of caffeine or the smell of polvo Maja. Anastasia Lovera and Anthony Velázquez recreate that feeling in Emperifollá‘s first editorial, shot by Maridelis Morales Rosado at Jones Beach Café in Brooklyn, New York.
